PRODUCT APPROACH
TheGuarantors came to me during a major growth moment—fresh off an $11.7M Series A and gearing up for their Series B that would define their next chapter. Their audience was split between three groups who couldn’t be more different: renters who needed clarity and reassurance, brokers who bridged the gaps between the other two groups, and landlords who needed efficiency and trust. My approach was to build a digital environment that served both without forcing either to compromise.
I started by mapping each persona’s emotional and functional journey, then rebuilt the renter-facing experience into a friendlier, more intuitive space—something people could actually enjoy navigating. I built a flexible design system that could stretch across renters, landlords, and brokers without breaking, and prototyped interactive flows that made complicated insurance terms feel simple and human. Everything shipped collaboratively with product and engineering in tight loops, refining the site as the company moved toward its Series B push.
OUTCOMES
The redesigned experience helped TheGuarantors present a clearer, more trustworthy product to renters and a more sophisticated platform to partners, supporting the company’s successful $15M Series B raise in 2019. The new renter experience increased engagement and comprehension across key flows, while the design system scaled across teams and touchpoints without losing consistency. The final product gave TheGuarantors a polished, modern presence that matched their momentum, and set them up for the expansion that followed.
