An April Fool’s joke turned beloved company character
What started out as a simple misunderstanding over the phrase “click 'patchy' in the quiz,” became a joke a coworker and I at Keeps wanted to play on everyone. Over a long weekend we worked together to bring life into the simple misunderstanding. We pitched it to our product, marketing, and engineering teams as if it were a serious launch — our ‘hottest release’ for the start of 2025. Though to everyone’s relief the character was just a joke, it became a staple in every Slack message and a piece of our company’s culture.
